OPPORTUNITY FOR NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

Leadership Windsor/Essex would like to offer your organization the opportunity to submit a project proposal that would allow leadership participants to learn more about your organization, your clients and their needs.

Leadership Windsor/Essex participants will select a Community Action Project to complete from October to June.

As the key “hands on” aspect of the program, the Community Action Projects are designed to:

Provide an opportunity to directly apply the knowledge and skills being developed during the program;
Develop teamwork skills through group learning experience;
Develop links in the community; and
Address community issues while fostering collaboration within the community.

To have your organization's project considered for a Community Action Project, please complete the form available HERE and forward it to Hayley Morgan at hmorgan@leadershipwindsor-essex.org.

The Community Action Projects will be chosen by the LWE Class of 2010 at the Opening Retreat in September 2009. Please note that there is a possibility that your project may not be chosen.

Who we are

Leadership Windsor/Essex is one of 22 Leadership programs across Canada. Community Leadership Programs promote and encourage outstanding community leadership by developing the leadership capabilities of citizens who care about the community – those who understand its strengths and weaknesses and who are willing to make a personal investment to improve a community's quality of life.

Each year, community leaders from all sectors of Canadian society, reflecting the diverse nature of our communities, take part in community leadership training. The training is designed to expand the number of individuals who accept leadership roles in business, government, and not-for-profit organizations to train them to meet future challenges in our communities. Tailored for the busy, working professional, Community Leadership Programs also develop networks of people with a sense of community trusteeship who can work together to build and sustain community.
