Call for Nominations 2012 Community Impact Award Leadership Windsor-Essex is now accepting applications for the 2012 Community Impact Award. The Communtiy Impact award honours a communtiy leader who has made a significant impact on local area through both workplace and community efforts. The award celebrates people who become visible in our community by rolling up their sleeves and solving issues facing Windsor-Essex, people who believe in civic unity, and are steering our community to a better quality of life. Who we are Leadership Windsor/Essex is one of 22 Leadership programs across Canada. Community Leadership Programs promote and encourage outstanding community leadership by developing the leadership capabilities of citizens who care about the community – those who understand its strengths and weaknesses and who are willing to make a personal investment to improve our community's quality of life.
Each year, community leaders from all sectors of Canadian society, reflecting the diverse nature of our communities, take part in community leadership training. The training is designed to expand the number of individuals who accept leadership roles in business, government, and not-for-profit organizations to train them to meet future challenges in our communities. Tailored for the busy, working professional, Community Leadership Programs also develop networks of people with a sense of community trusteeship who can work together to build and sustain community.
